Pitching Continues To Carry Rocks In 1-0 Win Vs Keys

The Wilmington Blue Rocks won their second straight game on Wednesday when the team beat the Frederick Keys 1-0 at Frawley Stadium.

The RBIs in the game came from first baseman Nick Pratto (1).

One Blue Rocks player had a run in the win and they were second baseman Colby Schultz (1).

Five Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Schultz (2), Pratto (1), third baseman Dennicher Carrasco (1), left fielder Brewer Hicklen (1) and shortstop Cristian Perez (1).

The Blue Rocks were two for six with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

On the pitching side, Rocks starter Daniel Lynch was shutting down the Keys line up with ease, as he went seven innings, two hits and nine strikeouts.

Collin Snider came into the game to relieve Lynch as he went one inning, one walk, one strikeout and earned the win ( third of the season).

Tad Ratliff would close the game up for the Rocks as he went one inning and earned the save (10th of the season).

Pratto Knocks In Winning Run In the 7th & Pitching Seals The Win

This game was truly a pitching duel as the offense for each team was silent for seven innings, until  the Rocks decided it was time to put a run on the board.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rocks run came from Nick Pratto who hit a line drive single to right field which allowed Colby Schultz to score to give their team a 1-0 lead.

Rocks starting pitcher Daniel Lynch’s day was done after seven innings, as he went seven innings, two hits and nine strikeouts.

Collin Snider would relieve Lynch who would continue the dominance of the pitching staff, as he went one inning, one walk, one strikeout and earned the win.

Tad Ratliff would come into the ninth inning to seal the win which he did just that as the Rocks pitcher sat all three batters down in the inning.

Ratliff stats in the ninth was he went one inning and earned the save.

In the 1-0 win, the Rocks pitching staff only gave up two hits in the game.

The Rocks close out the series with Keys tomorrow at 6:35pm ET at Frawley Stadium.
