The Wilmington Blue Rocks played a doubleheader on Tuesday at Frawley Stadium against the Frederick Keys and in game one, it was not so good for Wilmington as the team lost 4-1. In game two, the Blue Rocks would win 2-0 with a walk off home run from catcher MJ Melendez.
Let’s talk about game two which the Blue Rocks won.

The RBIs in the game came from catcher MJ Melendez (2).
Two Blue Rocks player had runs in the win and they were Melendez (1) and third baseman Dennicher Carrasco (1).
Three Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Melendez (1) , second baseman Ricky Aracena (1) and Carrasco (1).
Second baseman Ricky Aracena recorded a stolen base in the 2-0 win.
The Blue Rocks were 0 for 1 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.
On the pitching side, Rocks starter Rito Lugo was dominant in his outing as he went five innings, three hits and four strikeouts.
Tyler Zuber came into the game to relieve Lugo which he went two innings, one strikeout and earned the win ( second win of the season).
Blue Rocks Win The Game With Walk Off Home Run
This game was truly a pitching duel as neither lineup could produce much offense as the two teams had a combined six hits.
Rocks starter Rito Lugo confused the Keys hitters for five innings as he exited the game with three hits and four strikeouts.
Tyler Zuber would come into the game for Lugo which he was brilliant as well, as he went two innings, one strikeout and earned the win.
In the bottom of the seventh inning is where the offense woke up for the Blue Rocks as Dennicher Carrasco would hit a line drive single to center field.
The next batter would end the game as MJ Melendez would hit a two run walk off home run to give the Rocks a 2-0 win.
The Rocks continue to the series with the Keys tomorrow at Frawley Stadium at 10:35am ET.
