The Chris Paul to the Rockets was not the only trade of the day for the Rockets, who also traded for Philadelphia Sixers center/power forward Shawn Long for a 2018 second-round pick and cash considerations.

Long started with the Sixers in the Summer League in 2016 after getting undrafted from Louisiana Lafayette. After getting signed by the Sixers in July of 2016, he then played seven preseason games for the team before getting waived on October 24, 2016.
Then about five days later, Long was acquired by the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Gatorade League as an affiliate player of the Sixers. Long did not mess up his shot with the G-League and proved he was worthy of playing in the NBA.
Long’s best game as a Delaware 87er was on January 6th where he scored 45 points and had 14 rebounds vs the Erie BayHawks.

On March 6th, 2017 the consistent Sevens Center was called up by the Philadelphia 76ers with a 10-day contract. That same night, Long made his NBA debut scoring 13 points in a 112–98 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
A couple weeks later, Long signed a multi-year deal with the 76ers.
The Louisiana native played in 18 games, averaged 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 13 minutes with the 76ers.
