The Delaware Blue Coats made easy work of the Lakeland Magic on Sunday as they defeated them 109-83 at the RP Funding Center.
The leading scorer of the game for the Blue Coats was guard/forward Marial Shayok who had 24 points.
Center Doral Moore had his second straight double-double as he had 19 points and 17 rebounds.
Three other Blue Coats players scored in double digits and they were guard/forward Shake Milton (13), point guard Xavier Munford (20) and forward Haywood Highsmith (16).
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game which included rebounds (61-53), assists (25-15), steals (17-11) and blocked shots (11-10)
Delaware also had the advantage over Lakeland in shooting percentage as the team had 42% ( 40-95 and the Magic had 30% ( 29-96). The Blue Coats also bested the Magic at the three-point line with the team shooting 35%(11-31) and Lakeland shot 18% (7-40).
Blue Coats Hold A 20 Point Lead After One Quarter
The first quarter started with Delaware jumping out to dominating 16-0 lead which was led by Xavier Munford who scored 10 of the 16 points on the run.
Starting at the 2:38 minute mark, Blue Coats would outscore the Magic 13-7 which expanded their lead to 36-16 to end the first quarter.
Delaware Ends With A 15 Point Lead At The Half
The second quarter started with Lakeland going on 8-2 run which decreased Blue Coats lead to 38-24 with 9:25 left in the half.
Around the 5:13 minute mark, Magic would go on another run which this time was a 15-7 run. The run pulled the Blue Coats lead to 14 as the score was 57-43 at the end of the half.
Blue Coats Hold A 12 Point Lead After Three Quarters
At the 5:45 minute mark in the third quarter, The Blue Coats would outscore the Magic 13-8 to end the quarter with a 79-67 lead. Marial Shayok led the charge on the run as he scored eight of the 13 points.
Delaware Takes Home A 26 Point Win
The Blue Coats opened up the fourth quarter with an 18-9 run which extended their lead to 97-76 with 5:52 left in the game. Haywood Highsmith was the leading man of that run with scoring five of the 18 points.
At the 3:58 minute mark, Delaware outscored the Magic 12-7 to seal a 109-83 win.Marial Shayok led the charge on that run as he scored 10 of the 12 points.
