The Wilmington Blue Rocks earned their sixth win of the season on Wednesday as the team defeated the Hickory Crawdads 3-0.
Game stats:
RBIs: First baseman Omar Meregildo and outfielder Kevin Strohschein led the team in RBIs with one.
Runs: Second baseman Darren Baker, designated hitter Israel Pineda, and Meregildo led the team in runs scored with one.
Hits: Wilmington had a total of four hits in the game. Meregildo led the team in hits in the win with two.
Stolen bases: Baker stole a base in the win.
Blue Rocks were two for seven, with runners in the scoring position in the win. The team left seven runners on base.
Pitching: On the pitching side, starting pitcher Mitchell Parker went 5.2 innings, gave up two hits, nine strikeouts, and earned the win.
Gilberto Chu came into the game to relieve Parker , as he went 1.1innings, three strikeouts and earned the hold.
Tyler Yankosky closed the game, as he went two innings, three strikeouts, and earned the save.
