The Wilmington Blue Rocks have now won four straight games and swept the series with the Down East Wood Ducks with a 2-1 win on Sunday at Frawley Stadium.

The RBIs in the game came from center fielder Kyle Isbel (1) and DH Brewer Hicklen (1).
Two Blue Rocks players had runs in the win and they were second baseman Ricky Aracena (1) and shortstop Colby Schultz (1).
Six Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Isbel (1), third baseman Dennicher Carrasco (1), left fielder Kyle Kasser (1), first baseman Nick Pratto (1),Schultz (1) and Aracena (1).
The Wilmington Blue Rocks were one for two with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.
On the pitching side,Jesse Hahn started the game out as the Kansas City Royals pitcher was in Wilmington rehabbing from a UCL surgery which he went one inning and struck three batters out.
After Hahn had a solid one inning rehab start, it was time for the Rocks starter of the game which was Jonathan Bowlan. Bowlan went six innings, two hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

After Bowlan checked out of the game, it was Josh Mitchell’s turn which he went one inning, one walk, one strikeout and earned the win ( fifth of the season).
Josh Dye would be the last man up for the Rocks rotation as he went one inning, two hits,one run,one earned run,one walk, one strikeout and earned the save ( fifth of the season).
The Pitching Duel Ends In The Eighth Inning With Rocks Score
The pitching rotations on both teams flexed their skills in this game as neither team’s hitters could get a run past them until the late innings of this one.
The pitching staff for the Rocks started out with Kansas City Royals pitcher Jesse Hahn who was down in Wilmington for a rehab stint. Hahn went one inning and struck out three hitters.

In the top of the second inning, Rocks pitcher Jonathan Bowlan would come in which he would dominate the Ducks hitters in six innings. Bowlan went six innings, two hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

In the top of the eighth inning, Josh Mitchell would come into the game to relieve Bowlan, as he went one inning, one walk, one strikeout and earned the win.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, the silence of the scoreboard would finally end as Rocks would score two runs in the inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Rocks first run of the inning came from Kyle Isbel who would hit a line drive single to center field which would score Colby Schultz to give their team a 1-0 lead.
The next run for the Rocks in the inning came when Brewer Hicklen hit into a sacrifice fly which allowed Ricky Aracena to score to extend their team’s lead to 2-0.

Rocks Hang On In Ninth Inning To Get 2-1 Win
Josh Dye would come into the game for Rocks to close out the win but it was a bumpy ride to the finish.
The first Wood Ducks batter that Dye faced in the inning would get on base with a triple and the following batter Sam Huff would hit a line drive single to center field which scored Julio Pablo Martinez to decrease Rocks lead to 2-1.
After the score, Dye would settle down as he would have a walk, strikeout and two fly outs to seal the Rocks win.
Rocks start a road series with the Lynchburg Hillcats on August 26th at 6:30 PM ET.
