87ers Fall to Skyforce 115-103 For First Loss of the Season

The Delaware 87ers fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce 115-103  on Friday, for their first loss and road loss of the season.

The Sevens was not in control of this game at all and played very inconsistent throughout the whole game. SkyForce had total control of this game and never lost the lead throughout the game. Sioux Falls had multiple double digits leads throughout the game which had the Sevens always playing catch up.

The first quarter Skyforce came out strong with scoring the first seven points of the game and set the tempo of the game. Then by the end of the first quarter the Sevens was down 33-26.

Then in the second quarter the 87ers showed some fight and was lead by guard Anthony “Cat” Barber who scored 12 of his 28 total points in the second quarter to help bring the 87ers within six points of the lead by halftime.

Sioux Falls came out firing in the third quarter, going on a 14-0 run and putting the score to 72-56. Things did not look good for the Sevens but they did not give up and went on their own 10-2 run that put the score 88-83 by the end of the third.

The 87ers just dug themselves too deep of a whole and even with a four point gap with around 4:00 minutes left they could not hang on and Skyforce finished out the game strong with a 115-103 win.

87ers Anthony ” Cat” Barber posted a team high 28 points vs Skyforce.

Skyforce’s Okaro White had a double-double with 17 rebounds and 29 points.

Sevens fall to 1-1 on the season and play the Energy tomorrow in Iowa at 8pm.
