Finals Bound: Blue Coats secure spot in G-League Finals with 127-100 win over Raptors 905

Delaware leads by two after one-quarter of play

The game started with the Raptors taking the early lead as the score would be 7-4 with 8:57 left in the first quarter.

At the 7:26 minute mark, the intensity of the game went up a notch as the lead would change hands four times, and the score would be tied twice with the Raptors holding on to a 15-14 lead. The final lead change during those four minutes would come from the 905’s Matt Mooney hitting a three-pointer to give his team a 15-14 lead with 3:59 left in the first quarter.

Starting at the 3:43 minute mark, Delaware would outscore the Raptors 13-10, which gave them a 27-25 lead at the end of the first quarter. The leading scorer during that time would be Braxton Key, who would score six of the 13 points.

The Blue Coats would make three shots from the three-point line during that run, which came from Key (2) and Isaiah Joe (1).

Delaware would come out swinging in the second quarter as the team went on an 18-9 run which gave the team a 45-34 lead with 6:09 left in the first half.

The trio of Justin Robinson, Isaiah Joe, and Braxton Key would score ten of the 18 points on the run.

Rebounding was also a key part of this run, as the team collected six rebounds.

The Blue Coats would score 17 more points in the second quarter to end the first half with a 62-49 lead. The duo of Paul Reed and Joe would score 13 of the 17 points during the last six minutes of the first half.

Delaware continued to be hot from the three-point line as the team made three shots which came from Joe (2) and Reed (1).

Raptors pull within five points of the lead

In the first 3:55 minutes in the second half, the Blue Coats would go on an 8-2 run which extended their lead to 70-51 with 8:55 left in the third quarter. Rayjon Tucker would be the leader of this run as he scored four of the eight points.

The Raptors turned the ball over four times during Delaware’s 8-2 run.

Seconds later, the Raptors would score 17 straight points, which would cut the lead to two points (70-68) with 4:52 left in the third quarter.

At the 4:27 minute mark, the Blue Coats would outscore the 905 12-9, which allowed them to hold on to an 82-77 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Delaware wins by 27

The fourth quarter started with Delaware jumping out to a 21 -7 run, which expanded their lead to 103-84 with 6:28 left in the game. The duo of Isaiah Joe and Braxton Key would score 18 of the 21 points on the run.

Rebounding was once again a key on a run as the team collected five rebounds.

The Blue Coats would add 24 more points in the final quarter as it would help them seal a 127-100 win and a spot in the G-League Finals. Paul Reed would score 15 of Delaware’s 24 final points in the game.
