Blue Coats Paul Reed named NBA G League Rookie & Most Valuable Player of the Year

The Delaware Blue Coats center Paul Reed was named Rookie and Most Valuable Player of the Year by the NBA G League on Monday. Reed is the third G League player in history to win both MVP and Rookie of the Year.

The Blue Coats center is the first player in the franchise’s history to win either MVP or Rookie of the Year.

The six-foot-nine center averaged 22.3 points per game, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 15 games with Delaware.

Reed was also a double-double machine this season as he had 12 in 15 games. In the last four games of the regular season, Reed collected a combined 54 rebounds.

The big man also had eight games this season where he scored 20 or more points. The DePaul alum also had two games where he scored 30 or more points this season.

The two-way player helped the Blue Coats secure their first playoff berth and their first trip to the NBA G League Finals.
