Brownridge Scores 28 in Blue Coats opening season win over Fort Wayne

The Delaware Blue Coats opened the 2021 season with a 124-119 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants On Thursday.

The leading scorer in the win for Delaware was guard Jared Brownridge who had 28 points.

Two Blue Coats players who recorded a double-double in the win were small forward Jemerrio Jones, and center Paul Reed.

Jones had 10 points and collected 13 rebounds in the win.

Reed had 20 points and collected 10 rebounds in the win.

Three other Blue Coats players scored in double digits and they were shooting guard Rayjon Tucker (22), point guard Justin Robinson (16), and forward/center Ivan Rabb (12).

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game which included assists (29-18) and blocks (9-6).

Blue Coats also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 48% (40-84) and with Fort Wayne shooting 46% (43-94). Delaware also bested the Mad Ants at the three-point line with the team shooting 39% (13-33) and with Fort Wayne shooting 21% (16-21).

Blue Coats also was better at the free-throw line than the Mad Ants as Delaware shot 78% (21-27) and Fort Wayne shot 75% ( 15-20).
