Former Delaware 87ers & NBA Star Baron Davis Signs With BIG3

Baron Davis is going back on the basketball court because the BIG3 Co-Founders Ice Cube, Jeff Kwatinetz, and 3’s Company Coach Allen Iverson announced that that former Delaware 87ers and  NBA star Baron Davis has signed with the BIG3 league and will join 3’s Company as the team’s newest co-captain, alongside another former NBA player DerMarr Johnson.

The announcement happened at Davis  Black Santa First Annual Celebrity Basketball Game Fundraiser in Santa Monica, Calif., which raised funds for the worthy causes supported by The GOOD+Foundation, The Drew League Foundation and Team Rubicon Foundation. The BIG3 crew made the announcement at special appearance at halftime during the game.

Davis is revving to play for the league and relishing the opportunity to play basketball again.

“At the end of the day, I just wanna hoop. I really love what Cube is doing. A lot fans have been asking me to play, and AI is someone who has always been a big bro to me,” said Davis. “Hearing about the fun they had this past summer really made me excited to suit up. I have a lot of basketball left, and this is a great opportunity to fill that void I’ve been missing.”

Baron Davis is a two-time NBA All-Star, All-NBA Third Team, 2× NBA steals leader and NBA Skills Challenge champion in 13 seasons in the NBA. Also, was a Third-team All-American, First-team All-Pac-10 and was inducted to the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016.

In his NBA career, Davis averaged 16.1 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists.

Davis last played in the NBA through the G-League ( then D-league) with the Delaware 87ers in the 2015-2016 season.

In 6 games with the Sevens, Davis averaged 12.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Davis joins a 3’s Company team that finished fifth in 2017 and joins other former NBA player as a co-captain or a coach of a team including 2017 BIG3 MVP Rashard Lewis, 2017 BIG3 Champions Trilogy’s Kenyon Martin, Al Harrington and coach Rick Mahorn, Allen Iverson, Corey Maggette, Chauncey Billups, Clyde Drexler, Gary Payton, Brian Scalabrine, Jermaine O’Neal, Charles Oakley, Stephen Jackson, Mike Bibby, DerMarr Johnson, Ricky Davis, Josh Childress, Cuttino Mobley, Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams, Bonzi Wells, George “The Iceman” Gervin, and Rick Barry.

The BIG3’s season starts  on June 22nd and will air on FOX Broadcast Network and FS1 on Friday nights.
