The Philadelphia 76ers announced Wednesday that they are sending center Nerlens Noel to their NBA D-League affiliate the Delaware 87ers for a rehab assignment.
Noel has yet to appear in a game for the Philadelphia 76ers this season because of an inflamed plica in his left knee since training camp. The 6 foot 11 center had knee surgery in October to try to correct the problem.
ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that Noel will only be going down to Delaware to rehab his injury and will not appear in any games with the 87ers. Sixers did a similar thing with Jerryd Bayless where they sent him to the Sevens only for rehab and recalled him two days later.
