The Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the Fayetteville Woodpeckers 2-0 on Friday at Frawley Stadium. The Rocks claimed their 38th win of the season and a game away from claiming the first-half Carolina League North title.

The RBIs in the game came from shortstop Cristian Perez (2).
Two Blue Rocks players had runs in the win and they were left fielder Brewer Hicklen (1) and first baseman Nick Pratto (1).
Four Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Hicklen (1), Pratto (1), Perez (1) and second baseman Ricky Aracena (2).
Center fielder Blake Perkins (1), Brewer Hicklen (1) and Ricky Aracena each recorded a stolen base in the win.
The Rocks were one for five with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.
On the pitching side, Rocks starter Kris Bubic was the strikeout king on the mound tonight as he went six innings, six hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts.
Josh Dye would come into the game to relieve Bubic as he went one inning, two walks, one strikeout and earned the win ( first of the season).
Holden Capps would be the next man up in the pitching staff, as he went 0.2 innings, one hit,one walk, two strikeouts and earned the hold ( sixth of the season).
Tyler Zuber would close the game out for the Rocks as he went 1.1 innings, two strikeouts and earned the save (10th of the season).
Perez Bats In Winning Runs In Seventh Inning
This game was a good old fashion pitching duel for the first six innings as neither lineup could get anything past either team’s pitcher.
Wilmington’s Kris Bubic would end his day in the seventh inning but he put on quite the show in six innings of work. Bubic stats in six innings were six hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts.

Josh Dye would come in for Bubic, who continued on the dominance on the mound as he went one inning, two walks, one strikeout and earned the win.
In the bottom of the seventh inning is where the Blue Rocks would break the scoreboard silence as the team scored two runs in the inning.
The two runs in the inning came from Cristian Perez who would hit a two out single to first base which would score Brewer Hicklen and Nick Pratto to give the Rocks a 2-0 lead.

Holden Capps would be the next man up in the pitching staff, as he went 0.2 innings, one hit,one walk, two strikeouts and earned the hold.
Tyler Zuber would be the last man up for the Rocks as he would seal the Rocks 2-0 win in the ninth with a fly out and two strikeouts from the Woodpeckers hitters.
Zuber stats for the game was he went 1.1 innings, two strikeouts and earned the save.
Rocks continue the series with the Woodpeckers tomorrow at Frawley Stadium. First pitch is at 6:05 pm ET.
