Sights And Sounds Of The 3rd Annual Muscle Movement Foundation RUN for STRENGTH 5k

It was honor and a blast to cover the third annual Muscle Movement Foundation RUN for STRENGTH 5k. The temperature was around high 30’s-mid 40’s as as the race began and the sun was out for most of the race. Even with a little cold, that would not slow down  Muscle Champions and supporters who gave 100% effort to finish the race.

After everyone crossed the finish line, it was time to relax and celebrate what everyone accomplished at St.Marks on Saturday. Muscle Champions and supporters danced to music, had food and drinks in the St.Marks High School cafeteria.

As everyone was chowing down on the delicious food, Muscle Movement Foundation Founder Rob DeMasi started honoring and handing medals to Muscle Champions and supporters who ran the best time for their age bracket.

The MMF team also announced the winners for the raffle from various sponsors of the Muscle Movement Foundation 5K.

The most important thing is that every runner and muscle champion in the race today help brought awareness and raised money for individuals who suffer from the crippling effects of muscle diseases ( ALS, muscular dystrophy).

In fact with donations from the event, the Muscle Movement Foundation has raised over $22,325 dollars to help Muscle Champions. The event also had a record breaking 700 people register for the event.

Everyone in the race was a winner because they helped raise money for individuals who suffer from crippling  effects from muscle diseases but here is some of the fastest times in the Run for Strength 5K at St. Marks on Saturday.

Fastest Times:

Mike DiGennaro:  Finished 1st overall at 15:55.5

Leah-Kate Lounsbury:  Finished 11th overall 18:49.8( Female winner)
