The Delaware Blue Coats announced on Tuesday that team has acquired Nate Hickman & Terrence Drisdom from the available player pool. The Blue Coats also announced the team has released Cory Jefferson from his G League contract to pursue an international opportunity.
Hickman is a Newark, Delaware native who played college basketball at Columbia University, where he averaged 19 minutes per game, 6.7 points per game, two rebounds in 104 games.
The Columbia University guard tried out for the Blue Coats in their open tryouts last summer. Hickman was also in the Long Island Nets training camp this year.
Then there is Terrence Drisdom who played college basketball at Cal Poly Pomona. The Cal Poly Pomona guard averaged 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.1 minutes per game in his redshirt senior season. Drisdom earned numerous accolades for his redshirt senior season which includes CCAA Player of the Year and NABC Division II All-American.
Drisdom also has NBA G-League experience with playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors (2015-17) and Memphis Hustle (2018-2019).
At Santa Cruz, Drisdom averaged 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 17.8 minutes per game in 69 games.
Drisdom played in five games for the Hustle this season and averaged 0.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.8 minutes played.
The newest guard for the Blue Coats also played internationally with Japan’s Hiroshima Dragonflies last season.
Jefferson averaged 9.2 points, five rebounds and 24 minutes played in 22 games with the Blue Coats.
