Not every game is won handily and in Thursday’s game, it came down to one crucial shot for Delaware Blue Coats to get a 109-107 win over the Long Island Nets at the 76ers Fieldhouse. The game winning shot for the Blue Coats came from point guard Matt Farrell who hit a layup with one second left in the game. The Delaware Blue Coats announced on Tuesday that team has acquired Nate Hickman & Terrence Drisdom from the available player pool. The Blue Coats also announced the team has released Cory Jefferson from his G League contract to pursue an international opportunity. Hickman is a Newark, Delaware native who played college basketball at Columbia University, where he averaged 19 minutes per game, 6.7 points per game, two rebounds in 104 games. New year, same result for the Delaware 87ers. The last game the Sevens played in 2016 was a win over the Long Island Nets and the first game of 2017 the result was 109-106 win for the 87ers over the Nets again. The Delaware 87ers won in thrilling fashion for their last game of 2016 on Friday night at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Sevens beat the Long Island Nets 111-95 which was an exciting game for the home crowd in Newark, Delaware.
