Roy Jones Jr. Takes Down Bobby Gunn Becomes WBF Cruiserweight Champion

On Friday night there was a battle brewing at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, DE. The battle was between Roy Jones Jr.(65-9, 47 KOs) and Bobby Gunn (21-7-1, 18 KOs).

This was a one sided fight as the veteran boxer Jones Jr. had his way with the bare-knuckle champion Gunn most of the night.

Jones Jr. used his quickness to pick apart his opponent with fast but controlled forceful jabs in the early rounds.

The veteran boxer was having so much fun that he was getting the crowd into his easy win.

Then in the seventh round, Bobby Gunn was in real trouble. Gunn was hit by Jones Jr. almost at will and took some monster shots by the 48 yr old Boxer.

With a bloody nose and stumbling around the ring in the beginning seconds of the eighth round, Bobby Gunn’s team stopped the fight.

That meant the Old Roy Jones Jr. was the new WBF Cruiserweight Champion by Technical Knockout.

After the fight was over both fighters had nothing but good things to say about each other.

“Bobby is a real tough opponent. There were times maybe that I could’ve taken him out earlier, but I respect him,”said Roy Jones Jr. after dominated Bobby Gunn in eight rounds via round by round boxing.

“Getting in the ring with Roy Jones Jr. was the shining moment of my life. Roy you’re one hell of a man.” Gunn gushing about Jones Jr. after the loss via round by round boxing.

“He’s the greatest man I ever fought in my life” Gunn added.
