Blue Rocks stay hot and sweep series vs Potomac

There is no better feeling then being home and for the Blue Rocks that is especially true since they arrived home Monday, the Rocks have won four straight games.

On Thursday night, Blue Rocks marked their first series sweep of the season and first winning series since August 11th with the 3-2 win vs Potomac.

The star of the night for this win was the Blue Rocks starting pitcher Corey Ray who pitched 7 innings, allowed 4 hits, 1 run, and had 4 strikeouts on the night.

While the Rocks offense did not push out a ton of runs like they have done on previous nights in the series they scored just enough to help secure the win.

Rocks DH Robert Pehl lead the offense on Thursday with 2 RBIs, Pehl helped them take an early lead in the fourth inning with a single that scored right fielder Elier Hernandez to make in a 1-0 lead.

Rocks also had a RBI by Left fielder Brandon Downes on the night.

Pehl has 28 RBIs and Downes has 60 RBIs on the season.

Blue Rocks were 2 for 10 with runners in scoring position and left 9 men on base during Thursday’s game.

Blue Rocks look to stay hot at home when they start a series with the Carolina Mudcats at 7:05pm ET.
