The Blue Rocks pitching came to play Friday night but the offense struggled most of the night which led the Rocks to a 2-1 loss to the Potomac Nationals on the night.
The star of night for the Blue Rocks was starting pitcher Zach Lovvorn who had an excellent outing despite taking the loss. He pitched 7 innings, gave up 7 hits, 2 runs, struck out 3, and gave up one home run.
Lovvorn’s outing was wasted by the offense who could only get 2 doubles out of their 6 hits of the night. Blue Rocks scored their lone run from an error from Nationals first baseman Matthew Page which allowed the Blue Rocks catcher Chad Johnson score from 2nd base.
Blue Rocks were 1 for 5 with runners in scoring position on the night. Also, Rocks left 6 men on base Friday night.
