The Wilmington Blue Rocks opened the 2024 season on Friday with a 4-1 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Blue Rocks lead by one run at the end of the first inning.

Wilmington would get on the scoreboard first in this game when infielder Murphy Stehly pushed in a run with a sac fly to give his team a 1-0 lead.

The Blue Rocks started the inning with a single, and two batters earned a walk.

The Rocks would extend their lead in the bottom of the second inning when the team scored one run on two hits to take a 2-0 edge.

Outfielder Jared McKenzie would get the first hit of the inning when he slapped a single to second base.

Brooklyn would not score their first run of the game until the top of the seventh inning, which cut the deficit to 4-1. That would be the only run for the Cyclones, as the Blue Rocks would take home a 4-1 victory.
