Royals Promote Khalil Lee To Northwest Arkansas Naturals

The Kansas City Royals announced Wednesday that the organization is promoting outfielder Khalil Lee to their Double-A team the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Lee has been with the Wilmington Blue Rocks from the start of their season and has definitely impressed people with his speed and hitting.

At the Wilmington Blue Rocks, Lee had a .270 batting average, 42 runs ( 11th in Carolina League), 66 hits, 41 RBIs ( Ninth in Carolina League) , 13 doubles, four triples ( Sixth in Carolina League), 48 walks ( First in Carolina League) and four home runs.

The minor league outfielder was selected earlier this month to the Carolina League All-Star Game where he had two at bats, one hit, one walk and one strikeout in the game.

Lee was the fourth youngest player playing in the Carolina League this season.

The Royals prospect has been seen as one of the most dynamic players in the team’s farm system.

According to Kansas City Star’s Maria Torres, Lee is ranked the Royals second best prospect.

By the way, Lee’s birthday was the 26th of this month which we would say this promotion to Double-A is a great late birthday present.
