On Friday night, Blue Rocks snapped their 6 game winning streak at home and added to their losing streak which is now at 3 games.
Rocks lost to Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-0 and the Pelicans only scored in the first inning but that was all they needed against a struggling Rocks offense.
It all started in the first inning when Rocks starting pitcher Matt Tenuta gave up 5 runs which included 2 doubles from Pelicans left fielder Charcer Burks and center fielder Donnie Dewees. Tenuta was able to regain his composure and gave up no runs in his next 4 innings but the damage was done.
Tenuta’s final stat line was pitched 5 innings, gave up 8 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks and struck out 3.
The Rocks bullpen was solid in Friday’s night loss only giving up 2 hits in 4 innings of work.
It was another story for the Blue Rocks offense which was non-existent in Friday’s night loss to the Pelicans.
Rocks only mustered 3 hits and could not get a single run home on Friday.
Rocks were 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position and left 9 men on base Friday night.
Rocks look to snap their 3 game losing streak and even the series tomorrow vs Myrtle Beach at 7:05 pm ET.
