The Wilmington Blue Rocks keep rolling along as the team has now won four straight games with a 3-2 win over the Salem Red Sox on Tuesday at Haley Toyota Field.

The RBIs in the game came from catcher MJ Melendez (1), DH Sebastian Rivero (1) and third baseman Dennicher Carrasco (1).
Three Blue Rocks players had runs in the win and they were left fielder Brewer Hicklen (1), right fielder Seuly Matias (1) and Melendez (1).
Five Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Hicklen (1), first baseman Nick Pratto (1), Melendez (2),Rivero (1) and Carrasco (2).
The Blue Rocks were 3 for 11 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.
On the pitching side, Rocks starter Daniel Tillo gave a solid performance, as he went eight innings,five hits, two runs, two earned runs,one walk, three strikeouts, one home run and earned the win ( third win of the season).
Marcelo Martinez would close the game for Wilmington as he went one inning, three strikeouts and earned the save ( first save of the season).
Red Sox score In Two Straight Innings To Take Early Lead
It did not take long for a run to hit the board, as Salem would be the first team to score in the bottom of the first inning.
Red Sox’s first run came from Pedro Castellanos who would hit a single to left field which would score Jarren Duran to give their team a 1-0 lead.
Salem would add to their lead in the bottom of the second inning as well, when Jagger Rusconi hit a solo home run to left field to extend the lead to 2-0.
Fourth Inning Rocks Finally Wake Up
The Blue Rocks hitters finally woke up in the fourth inning, where the team tied the game up at two.
Brewer Hicklen started the inning off with a double to center field and two batters later, it was MJ Melendez who would hit a two out double to left field to score Hicklen which decreased Salem’s lead to 2-1.
The next batter up was Sebastian Rivero who hit a line drive single to left field which scored Melendez to tie the game up at two runs.
Rocks Get Winning Run In Ninth and Pitching Closes The Door
The Wilmington Blue Rocks did not want this game to go into extra innings, as Dennicher Carrasco would hit a line drive single to left field which scored Seuly Matias to give their team a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning.
Rocks starter Daniel Tillo had a rocky first two innings but was dominant the rest of way, as he went eight innings,five hits, two runs, two earned runs,one walk, three strikeouts, one home run and earned the win.
Marcelo Martinez would continue where Tillo left off as he struck out three of the four batters in the bottom of the ninth inning to seal the Rocks 3-2 win.
Martinez went one inning, three strikeouts and earned the save.
Rocks continue the series with Red Sox tomorrow at 7:05 ET.
