Delaware 87ers Announce 2017-2018 Schedule

The Delaware 87ers unveiled their 2017-2018 schedule on Thursday, which will mark the fifth season the team has been in the state of Delaware. The season kicks off for the Sevens on the road with a match up vs the Maine Red Claws on November 3rd at 7:00pm. Then on November 6th, the Sevens open the season at home against the Westchester Knicks for back to back games at the Bob Carpenter Center. Sevens Feel the Force on Star Wars Night and Take Home a 129-105 Win Vs BayHawks

The Sevens were definitely feeling the force on the court on Star Wars Night at the Bob Carpenter Center with a dominating 129-105 win over the Erie BayHawks. The Sevens were feeling it on Friday night, where 129 points scored was a season high for the team and Shawn Long scored 45 points in the game his best of the season. Sevens Return Home With a 104-95 Win Over The Blue

After going 2-1 on their recent road trip, the Sevens returned home to the Bob Carpenter Center and continued their winning ways. The Delaware 87ers beat the Oklahoma City Blue 104-95 on a chilly Tuesday night. It might of been cold outside but Sevens were hot on their home court playing one of their best quarters of the season when they went up on the Blue 30-16. 87ers snap 2-Game Losing streak With A 116-111 Win Vs Greensboro

On Monday night, The Delaware 87ers were saying “Home Sweet Home” after their comeback 116-111 win vs the Greensboro Swarm. With the win the Sevens snap a 2 game losing streak and remain undefeated at home (2-0). Monday’s win was not a pretty win but after the lackluster first half, the Sevens were able to outscore the Swarm by 15 in the second half for the comeback win. Eugene Burroughs named new head coach for 87ers

  The Delaware 87ers announced Thursday that Eugene Burroughs will be their new head coach going into the 2016-2017 season. Burroughs comes from the Sevens affiliate the Philadelphia 76ers where he was a shooting coach for the past two seasons. Burroughs is a native of Philadelphia and went to high school atĀ Episcopal Academy. Before joining the Sixers staff the Philly native coached at Penn State, Marist, Navy, American University, and Hofstra. The coaching change is a part of a swap the Sixers are doing with the Sevens to give everyone a chance to experience both aspects of the game.
