Sevens Acquire Devondrick Walker from Knicks

The Delaware 87ers announced Wednesday, they have traded Von Wafer to the Westchester Knicks for Devondrick Walker. Walker is a 6 foot 5 guard who was averaging 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, one steal and shot 15 of 16 from the free throw line this season in 21 minutes of play with the Knicks. The 6 foot 5 guard played college basketball at  Texas A&M University-Commerce and earned a  Lone Star Conference All-Second Team selection in his senior year. Sevens Halt Knicks Win Streak, Win 106-105

The Delaware 87ers on Thursday night stalled the Westchester Knicks from getting their club record seventh straight win, with a 106-105 win. It all started in the first quarter where the Knicks came out swinging early with  6 consecutive made shots to start the quarter which give them a 14-6 lead. Then the Sevens regrouped and they made a 12-1 run to give them a 18-15 lead with 5:28 left in the first quarter. Sevens Get First Road Win Of The Season, Defeat Grand Rapids 118-100

The Delaware 87ers took down the Grand Rapids Drive 118-100 in a game where Delaware was in full control for most of the game. This is the first road win for the Sevens after four unsuccessful tries earlier in the season. This was a different Sevens team in this game from the one we seen on the road this season because they did get into a small deficit in the first quarter but they were able climb back and take control of the game for pretty much rest of the afternoon. Delaware 87ers Add Veteran Von Wafer

The Delaware 87ers announced Friday that they have claimed veteran journeyman, guard-forward Von Wafer off of waivers. Wafer who played in the NBA for six seasons with seven different teams, including stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics  and Orlando Magic.Wafer was drafted  in 2005 NBA Draft out Florida State by the Lakers. The Veteran has averaged 7 points in 17 NBA playoff appearances. Most recently, Wafer has been playing internationally with Leones De Ponce in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league and Jiangsu Tong Xi of the Chinese Basketball Association.
