The Philadelphia 76ers announced Monday that former 76ers player Elton Brand has been named the General Manager of the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers NBA G League affiliate. After he retired last season, the 17 year NBA veteran joined the Sixers last year as a player-development consultant. Brand started  his journey in the NBA in 1999, when the Chicago Bulls chose him as the #1 pick of the draft. The former Duke player earned Co-Rookie of the Year with Steve Francis as Brand averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in his rookie season.
