Philadelphia 76ers Hire Elton Brand As GM Of G-League Team Delaware 87ers

The Philadelphia 76ers announced Monday that former 76ers player Elton Brand has been named the General Manager of the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers NBA G League affiliate. After he retired last season, the 17 year NBA veteran joined the Sixers last year as a player-development consultant. Brand started  his journey in the NBA in 1999, when the Chicago Bulls chose him as the #1 pick of the draft. The former Duke player earned Co-Rookie of the Year with Steve Francis as Brand averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in his rookie season. Sevens Halt Knicks Win Streak, Win 106-105

The Delaware 87ers on Thursday night stalled the Westchester Knicks from getting their club record seventh straight win, with a 106-105 win. It all started in the first quarter where the Knicks came out swinging early with  6 consecutive made shots to start the quarter which give them a 14-6 lead. Then the Sevens regrouped and they made a 12-1 run to give them a 18-15 lead with 5:28 left in the first quarter.
